A brand new month is a great time to make an effort to open yourself up to positivity and happiness and let go of all things negative.
In life, we often get so busy with our work, our kids and everything else we have going on - that sometimes we forget to - or 'don't have time' to - take care of ourselves.
We forget to make our own physical and mental health a priority or even feel guilty for doing even small things for ourselves for our own happiness.
The Self Care challenge aims to inspire people (especially parents) to make time every day (even if it's only 10 mins) to stop, relax, take a break and do something just for them - without feeling guilty or like you are wasting time!
Getting in to a habit of slowing down, being self aware and doing something that makes you feel good, that is good for your mental and physical health can make a huge difference in life.
Here are some ideas to kick start your challenge:
▪use a face mask ▪take a bath ▪try a new hairstyle ▪try adding lemon or cucumber etc to enjoy infused water ▪call or video chat a friend ▪try something new ▪get/give yourself a manicure/pedicure ▪sit outside and enjoy the sunshine for 15mins ▪ignore social media for 3 hrs ▪get takeaway or dinner delivered ▪read a book ▪go for a walk/jog/run ▪say NO to things and people that don't align with your priorities ▪clean out your social media - remove negative pages/groups/people ▪go to bed early ▪wake up early and enjoy some alone time ▪pick or buy some flowers for yourself ▪do something crafty ▪get your hair done/do an at home treatment ▪take a mental health day ▪meditate ▪do a workout ▪try group fitness/boot camp ▪get a massage ▪ play a game or get messy with your kids ▪Spend time in the garden ▪go to the beach and put your feet in the ocean ▪burn a candle/oil diffuse ▪listen to your music loud ▪sing ▪declutter an area that's been bothering you
And feel free to share your journey using the hashtag #selfcarechallenge
