▪How to Salvage a Crappy Morning▪

You know those mornings - when you feel flat and everything seems to go wrong. When no amount of caffeine or inspirational memes can bring you out of your slump.

This morning was one of those mornings.

A dark rainy start to the day - It began around 4:30am, with my teething twins deciding that then was the perfect time for us all to start our day.

Fair enough, an early start can be great right? You can fit more in and get a headstart on the day. Yeah that's wasn't going to be today.

To sum it up it went a bit like this:

2 clingy babies who think that being put down warrants noise that I can only really relate to an emergency siren.

1 grumpy daughter - because she's trying out an attitude and it's not working for her.

1 hypo 5 year old - who even when reminded 30 times in a row the steps to get ready for school just has better things to do apparently .

And of course Mr almost 2 who is only ever really quiet if Dora is on.

We made it out the door - to the car in the rain (because out of the at least 4 umbrellas we own no one can even locate 1). Lucky for me I have my Mum to look after the babies so I don't have to drag them out in the rain.

After making sure all bags were in and kids were buckled I made it to the drivers seat. Absolutely soaked and with each child already having at least 3 things to whinge about.

So I did the only thing that I feel can salvage a morning like this one...

Loud music. No depressing or slow stuff. Upbeat - get you going - music.

Its important to find the volume balance so it's not loud enough to affect their hearing but loud enough to drown out the whinging and nagging along with any negative thoughts surrounding your shitty morning.

Bonus points if you sing just as loud as the music (they will look at you like your insane) or keep your music semi loud at your kids school drop off point - "mum your sooo embarrassing" - love it.

And then, realistically everyone is now distracted from their whinging and shitty morning. They may think your a bit crazy but they probably think your pretty hilarious too.

Happy Monday 😁
